A reminder of the guidance

As always, the museum prioritises care for people. Please therefore keep your distance from other museum visitors. Please do not touch the objects, but do please allow yourself to be touched by them!

Good to know beforehand

  • The museum is open.
  • You will need to wear a face covering.
  • The museum is open for visits between 13:30 and 17:00. The average visit takes about 60 minutes.
  • Visitors are admitted every 20 minutes. The last time slot begins at 15:50.
  • No more than 20 visitors may be in the building at any time.
  • To comply with the guidance, visits are by reservation only. Please reserve online. Reservations can also be made by email or telephone during opening hours.
  • You may state a preferred time in your reservation. We will send confirmation of your actual time.
  • Payment is still due in the museum. Electronic and contactless payment preferred.

  • Wear a face covering.
  • Wash your hands immediately before and after your visit.
  • Please arrive on time. Please adhere to your reservation time.
  • Avoid using the cloakroom and keep coats and (large) bags to a minimum. Arriving by car? Leave coats and backpacks in the car.
  • Please note that for safety reasons the interactive elements in the museum rooms are not in use. But they are downloadable from the websitehttps://www.gasthuismuseumgeel.be/wist-je-datjes.
  • Assistance dogs are still welcome.
  • Do not forget your payment card, we accept contactless payments.
  • Tip: bring earphones for your smartphone to listen to the audio guide.
  • Please cancel your visit if you have symptoms.

Welcome to the museum

  • Please follow the marked route and the guidance on the notice boards.
  • Please follow the social distancing rules and maintain a safe distance (1.5 metres) from visitors and staff.
  • Please do not touch the objects.
  • Don’t be put off by our plague physician ;-)
  • Above all: enjoy yourself and take your time!

Protective measures

  • Face coverings are compulsory. The museum does not provide masks.
  • We have altered the exhibitions and children's routes to eliminate the need to touch surfaces.
  • Wash your hands immediately before and after your visit.
  • Please use the hand sanitisers we have provided.
  • Do you need to cough or sneeze? Please use the inside of your elbow.
  • Door handles, smooth surfaces, toilets… are cleaned with great care and regularity.
  • The counter has been fitted with a Perspex screen.
  • Audio guides are not available. Please download the files directly to your smartphone.
