In pursuit of the legend
In the afternoon your guide takes you on tour of the magnificent Hospital Museum. You hear stories about the Augustinian Sisters Hospitallers, who cared for the area's sick for centuries and learn about Saint Dimpna.
In the afternoon the guide takes you to the cradle of family foster care: St. Dimpna's Church. You hear about the legend of Dimpna and learn of the rituals that the sufferers of mental health problems were forced to go through. Be amazed by the beauty of the church, which houses at least five Flemish masterpieces and the de Merode family's impressive renaissance tomb.
